MISSION STATEMENT
After earning a BFA from the New York Institute of Technology, Sheri Stevens founded Gotham Installations in 1997, following a chance meeting with Barnes and Noble’s construction staff. As Barnes and Noble embarked on a 25-year, 50-state expansion, Gotham Installations became their go-to partner, sourcing millwork and building interiors for over 400 stores. This required extensive licensing, including the challenging California Contractors license, nationwide insurance, and union reciprocity.
With the support of hardworking carpenters and a reliable CPA, Stevens built teams capable of handling simultaneous projects across the country. Gotham soon expanded its client base, working with major brands like WeWork, Cheesecake Factory, and Hudson News, including the entire JetBlue Terminal 5 at JFK Airport.
Gotham also launched American Vet Works, Inc., a government procurement business. Initially focused on global and domestic sourcing, they provided millions of dollars of PPE to the Veterans Administration during COVID-19. Following a presidential mandate for electric vehicles, the company shifted to vetting and demonstrating electric vehicles and chargers, as well as providing custom medical and facility supplies to the VA. With government mandates evolving, Gotham’s product line continues to adapt, currently focusing on achieving 100% electric government facilities by 2030.
Sheri Stevens has led her Woman-Owned Small Business to over $29 million in government contracts, with a perfect CPARS record and recognition as an Empire State Woman Minority Business Affiliate.
